Poberezny at Curtiss Wright Field in Milwaukee in January 1953. It has grown from a hand full of aviation enthusiasts to a 170,000 member international organization with over 1,000 active Chapters, representing virtually the entire spectrum of sport aviation. Its headquarters and EAA Air Adventure Museum now occupy a 150,000 square foot facility on the southside of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. EAA hosts the week-long Oshkosh Fly-In Convention, known as one of the world's largest and most significant aviation events, attended by over 800,000 people and 12,000 airplanes.
EAA is an organization of people who enjoy flying and the broad spectrum of related activities it offers. It is an association whose focus includes virtually every aspect of aviation : designing, building, restoring, flying or enjoying the dynamic nature of flight. Membership is open to all who wish to participate.

What is an EAA Chapter ?

One of the best ways to become active in EAA is to join an EAA Chapter. Chapters consist of 10 or more EAA members who meet regularly (usually once a month) to exchange information, share ideas and engage in aviation related activities such as fly-ins, airport open houses, aircraft construction/restoration projects and more. It is an easy way to put fun into flying!

 Home | EAA Ultralights
